Ὡς δὲ ἤκουσεν Ἰωναθὰν καὶ ὁ λαὸς τοὺς λόγους τούτους, οὐκ ἐπίστευσεν αὐτοῖς οὐδὲ ἐπεδέξαντο, ὅτι ἐπεμνήσθησαν τῆς κακίας τῆς μεγάλης ἧς ἐποίησεν ἐν Ἰσραήλ, καὶ ἔθλιψεν αὐτοὺς σφόδρα.

When Jonathan and the people heard these words, they did not believe them nor receive them, because they remembered the great wickedness which he had done in Israel, and he had afflicted them exceedingly.
