καὶ ἠξίωσαν οἱ ἀπὸ Γάζης Ἰωναθάν, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς δεξιάς· καὶ ἔλαβεν τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν ἀρχόντων αὐτῶν εἰς ὅμηρα, καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς εἰς Ἰερουσαλήμ, καὶ διῆλθεν τὴν χώραν ἕως Δαμασκοῦ.

And the people from Gaza deemed Jonathan worthy, and he gave them his right hand, and took the sons of their rulers as hostages, and sent them to Jerusalem, and passed through the land as far as Damascus.
