Καὶ ἐθλίβη Δαυὶδ σφόδρα, ὅτι εἶπεν ὁ λαὸς λιθοβολῆσαι αὐτὸν, ὅτι κατώδυνος ψυχὴ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἑκάστου ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἐκραταιώθη Δαυὶδ ἐν Κυρίῳ Θεῷ αὐτοῦ.

And David was greatly distressed, because the people spoke of stoning him, for the soul of each one of all the people was bitter over his sons and his daughters, and David was strengthened in the Lord his God.
