Καὶ ἐβοήθησεν αὐτῷ Ἀβεσσὰ υἱὸς Σαρουίας, καὶ ἐπάταξε τὸν ἀλλόφυλον καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτόν· τότε ὤμοσαν οἱ ἄνδρες Δαυὶδ, λέγοντες, οὐκ ἐξελεύσῃ ἔτι μεθʼ ἡμῶν εἰς πόλεμον, καὶ οὐ μὴ σβέσῃς τὸν λύχνον Ἰσραήλ.

And Abishai son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the foreigner and put him to death. Then the men of David swore, saying, You will not go out with us into war anymore, and you will not extinguish the lamp of Israel.
