Καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ λαὸς, ὅτι κεχρόνικε Μωυσῆς καταβῆναι ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους, συνέστη ὁ λαὸς ἐπὶ Ἀαρὼν, καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ ἀνάστηθι, καὶ ποίησον ἡμῖν θεοὺς, οἳ προπορεύσονται ἡμῶν· ὁ γὰρ Μωυσῆς οὗτος ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἐξήγαγεν ἡμᾶς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου, οὐκ οἴδαμεν τί γέγονεν αὐτῷ.

And the people, seeing that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, gathered around Aaron, and they said to him, Arise and make for us gods who will go before us, for this Moses, the man who led us out of the land of Egypt—we do not know what has become of him.
