Τάδε λέγει Κύριος, τεῖχος Βαβυλῶνος ἐπλατύνθη, κατασκαπτόμενον κατασκαφήσεται, καὶ αἱ πύλαι αὐτῆς αἱ ὑψηλαὶ ἐμπυρισθήσονται, καὶ οὐ κοπιάσουσι λαοὶ εἰς κενὸν, καὶ ἔθνη ἐν ἀρχῇ ἐκλείψουσιν.

Thus says the Lord: the wall of Babylon was broadened, being demolished it shall be demolished, and its high gates shall be burned, and the peoples will not toil in vain, and the nations will perish at the start.
