Τότε Ἡρῴδης λάθρα καλέσας τοὺς μάγους ἠκρίβωσε παρ᾽ αὐτῶν τὸν χρόνον τοῦ φαινομένου ἀστέρος,

Then Herod secretly called the magi and determined from them the exact time when the star had appeared.
