καὶ εἰ μὴ ἐκολόβωσε Κύριος τὰς ἡμέρας, οὐκ ἂν ἐσώθη πᾶσα σάρξ· ἀλλὰ διὰ τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς οὓς ἐξελέξατο ἐκολόβωσε τὰς ἡμέρας.

And if the Lord had not shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved, but because of the chosen whom he chose, he shortened the days.
