ἰδῲν δὲ Λυσίας τὴν γενομένην τροπὴν τῆς αὐτοῦ συντάξεως, τῆς δὲ Ἰούδα τὸ γεγενημένον θάρσος, καὶ ὡς ἕτοιμοί εἰσιν ἢ ζῆν ἢ τεθνηκέναι γενναίως, ἀπῆρεν εἰς Ἀντιοχίαν· καὶ ἐξενολόγει, καὶ πλεοναστὸν πάλιν γενηθέντα παραγενέσθαι εἰς τὴν Ἰουδαίαν.

But Lysias, having seen the rout of his army and the courage that had come to Judah, and how they were ready either to live or to die nobly, departed to Antioch and recruited mercenaries to return to Judea with increased numbers.
