Καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ἔθνη ἃ ἀφῆκε Κύριος αὐτὰ ὥστε πειρᾶσαι ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸν Ἰσραὴλ, πάντας τοὺς μὴ ἐγνωκότας τοὺς πολέμους Χαναάν.

And these are the nations which the Lord left so that he might test Israel through them, all those who had not known the wars of Canaan.
