Καὶ εἶπαν οἱ ἄρχοντες πάσῃ τῇ συναγωγῇ, ἡμεῖς ὠμόσαμεν αὐτοῖς Κύριον τὸν Θεὸν Ἰσραὴλ, καὶ νῦν οὐ δυνησόμεθα ἅψασθαι αὐτῶν.

And the rulers said to all the congregation, We have sworn to them by the Lord, the God of Israel, and now we will not be able to touch them.
